Requirements
In this position the County Caseworker 1 will provide case management services to consumers and their families, either in their home or a community setting. Consumers may have developmental disabilities or experience severe and persistent mental illness. Collaborates with consumers and other involved agencies to locate and access all community resources and supportive services.
On day one of employment, CMSU’s employees begin earning paid vacation and sick time, as well as four (4) personal days and 15 paid holidays per year. CMSU also provides health, dental and vision insurance to its staff. Tuition reimbursement for graduate and undergraduate courses both in-person or on-line is also available. CMSU staff also qualify for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF).
Work Schedule and Additional Information:- Full-time employment.
- Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 and two years of college level course work which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
- A bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by successful completion of 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 or in a similar position performing paraprofessional case management functions.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within two months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.
Other Requirements:Legal Requirements:- You must pass a background investigation.
This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
