  • Hiring preference for residents of Lackawanna County
  • Ability to perform essential job functions, including travel as needed

Requirements

Aging Care Managers possess specialized training to evaluate the unique needs of older adults, enabling them to create and execute tailored care plans that address individual circumstances. Their role encompasses advocacy, continuous care management, and safeguarding vulnerable individuals from various forms of mistreatment, including abuse, neglect, exploitation, and abandonment. By facilitating access to a diverse array of community and home-based services, our primary objective is to enhance the overall quality of life for seniors. We are committed to empowering older adults and championing their rights while also providing essential support to their families and caregivers. It is important to note that this position may occasionally necessitate adaptability in work location and environment to best meet the needs of those we serve.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • This position may require travel as needed.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years as an Aging Case Aide 2; or
  • A bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by twelve (12) credits in social sciences, behavioral sciences, human services, or a closely related field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.

  • Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Lackawanna County. If no eligible candidates who live within Lackawanna County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.


Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
