Requirements

Casework is comprised of two distinct roles: Investigating allegations of abuse and neglect and ongoing support for children and families.

Every day presents different challenges which may include investigating allegations of abuse or neglect, working with school partners to remedy truancy, collaborating with mental health providers to serve the needs of children and families, or testifying in court to support and effort to protect children from suspected abuse or neglect.

Casework requires face to face contact with children and families. Each year of employment will be credited to Public Student Loan Forgiveness (PSLF).


Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of professional experience in public or private social work and a bachelor's degree with major course work in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and education which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
