In this position, you will provide structured, hands-on training and shop instruction to inmates learning the welding trade, helping them build skills for successful reentry into the workforce.
The role involves closely supervising and instructing inmates during both classroom sessions and practical work assignments while maintaining responsibility for their care, custody, and control.
Assignments are issued by work orders that include diagrams, drawings, sketches, or blueprints.
You will independently determine the appropriate procedures, tools, equipment, and materials for each task.
Work is performed with broad oversight, and a supervisor reviews progress through conversations, written updates, and inspections of finished tasks to confirm they align with industry and trade competency standards.
