The State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Phoenix is seeking a highly motivated Corrections Maintenance Foreman with experience in building maintenance and repair to join our team. Requirements

In this position, you will supervise inmate work crews in completing routine construction and maintenance work assignments in and around the correctional facility.

The work you oversee will involve lawn care, snow removal, janitorial, and other general maintenance. You will plan and assign daily inmate schedules and inspect completed work assignments.

You may also assist other maintenance staff in the performance of semi-skilled and skilled work.

Further duties include issuing and inventorying all materials and tools used to complete work assignments.

Additionally, you will conduct searches of inmates and work areas to account for all materials and tools.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Sunday - Thursday.
  • This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $47,925.00 (before taxes). A higher salary may be established in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Four years of experience performing building maintenance, construction, or general trades work; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
