We are seeking an energetic and self-motivated person with construction and maintenance experience to work as Corrections Facility Maintenance Manager 3.

By acting as a leader in the Bureau of Operations, you will help us maintain and aid the maintenance of facilities and construction projects within DOC.

Requirements

In this position, you will provide technical and administrative assistance in the design and construction of projects, support, maintenance and renovation projects.

You will also support DOC interests in projects managed by the Department of General Services.

Your work will involve advising management staff in the implementation of all forms of maintenance and repair, guiding maintenance personnel, and supporting demolition and the removal of hazardous materials.

Some of your duties will include participating in preliminary planning of projects, developing budgetary estimates, and coordinating the activities of outside contractors.

Additionally, you will review projects in the areas of plant maintenance, energy conservation, and building modifications.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Work Location: 1920 Technology Parkway in Mechanicsburg, PA. Consideration will be given to an alternative SCI location if requested and available.
  • This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55 if designated to work inside an SCI. If candidate reports to DOC Central Office, this will not apply.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience as a Facility Maintenance Manager 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Two years as a Facility Maintenance Manager 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Three years of experience as a Utilities Supervisor (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Seven years of experience in the construction, maintenance or repair of buildings; or the operation, maintenance and repair of utility services equipment, including four years in a managerial or supervisory capacity; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
