Requirements

In this role, you will manage manufacturing and production tasks within a state prison.

Your responsibilities include training and supervising inmates in various industry practices, ensuring they understand the methods and procedures through hands-on demonstrations and clear guidance.

You will also plan and evaluate their work assignments while keeping detailed records of their training progress, wages, and attendance.

Additionally, maintaining high standards of quality and productivity is crucial, which involves inspecting equipment, raw materials, and finished products.

A significant part of your role will be to ensure that factory equipment operates smoothly and is well-maintained.

By fulfilling these duties, you will help meet the production goals of Correctional Industries while also aiding inmates in developing skills for their future reintegration into society.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40-hour work week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $51,868 (before taxes).
  • This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years of experience in the production of goods or services; or
  • An associate degree in industrial technology, operations management, business administration, or a related field; and one year of work experience in the production of goods or services; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training, which includes one year of work experience in the production of goods or services..


Other Requirements:

  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
