The University of South Carolina is seeking a dedicated and student-centered professional to serve as the Coordinator for Community Growth within Fraternity & Sorority Life. Under general supervision, this position is responsible for student advisement, educational programming, and chapter management for fraternities and sororities. This role supports the development of transformative student leaders and enhances opportunities for meaningful involvement beyond the classroom. The Coordinator for Community Growth actively contributes to a vibrant, inclusive living and learning experience for all members of the Greek community.

Primary duties include

• Serve as the primary advisor to a cohort of chapters.
• Act as a liaison between chapters, local and state advisors, and national headquarters staff.
• Advise Order of Omega and the Greek Programming Board, including oversight of budgets, meetings, and strategic planning.
• Provide guidance for large-scale cross-council events such as Greek Week and Trick or Treat with the Greeks, etc..
• Support recruitment initiatives, including selection, training, and advising of Panhellenic recruitment counselors and council intake processes.
• Support campus and community presentations, including Orientation, Admitted Student Days, Family Weekend, and other outreach initiatives.
• Contribute to promotional efforts, brand management, and the publication of the annual Guide to FSL .
• Coordinate administrative processes such as chapter registration, roster updates, and membership documentation.
• Assist in advancing Division priorities through Beyond the Classroom Matters initiatives.
• Support crisis response efforts and participate in the on-call duty rotation as part of the Greek community emergency support system.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

Membership in a Greek organization is strongly preferred. Master’s degree in higher education or related field and/or experience in the areas of curriculum or program development, fraternity/sorority operations, advisement, publications, and computer skills are strongly preferred. Fraternity/sorority leadership consultant experience or experience at a national headquarters office is strongly preferred. May graduates will be considered if they will be able to obtain their degree by the date of employment.
