Full Job Description

You will serve as a CONTRACT SPECIALIST in the Military Sealift Command (MSC), Contracting Department (N10), Ship Repair & Fleet Sup Div.

(N104), General Ship Support (N104C) of MILITARY SEALIFT COMMAND.

GS- 13 In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience managing relationships with customers and contractors, including negotiating terms and resolving contractual disputes and issues.

Experience collaborating closely with cross-functional teams (legal, finance, and program offices) to ensure alignment on contract terms and conditions.

Experience providing strategic advice and guidance on contracting strategies, best practices, and legal considerations.

Experience administering complex ship repair contracts, including daily negotiation of significant contract changes, oversight of special provisions, coordination of extensive subcontracting, and adherence to strict timelines.

  • You will lead the review, negotiation, and evaluation of proposals providing guidance to newer contract specialists and customers.
  • You will make awards that represent the best value to the government.
