This job involves patrolling Nashville's streets to enforce parking rules, check meters, and ensure vehicles like taxis and limousines follow regulations, while also handling sidewalk vending compliance.
The role requires being available 24/7 for emergencies and providing court testimony on violations.

Monitors and enforces parking ordinances which include meters, loading zones, valet zones, sidewalk vending zones, no parking zones, and residential parking.Ensures regulatory compliance with taxicabs, limousines, wreckers and transportainment vehicles.
Enforces Metro’s ordinance on sidewalk vending.Keeps accurate records and prepares detailed reports.Provides interpretations of policies, rules, regulations, and guidelines.Provides testimony and evidence in traffic & environmental court in support of citations issued.Refers non-compliance cases to appropriate authority as necessary.Keeps abreast of any changes or modifications in services, delivery procedures and/or regulatory rules and policies.Prepares and presents various reports for the Division Manager, Traffic and Parking Commission, and Council.
Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEHigh School Diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of responsible inspection, investigative, or compliance experience in support of a regulatory program or service.More education may be considered for some experience.
(1:1 Ratio)LICENSES REQUIREDValid Driver LicenseWork schedules may be morning, afternoon or evening shifts and could also consist of weekends and holidays.
Work hours may require an irregular schedule and occasional overtime. Candidates with accreditations earned in a foreign institute are encouraged to apply. Note: Per Metro Ordinance No. SO94-1078.
All employees of the Metropolitan Government shall be residents of the State of Tennessee or become residents of the state within six (6) months of employment as a prerequisite to employment with the Metropolitan Government.
