Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in public relations, public policy or a related field required; supplemented by three years of experience in community outreach, event coordination or related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Specific License or Certification Required: Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
Specific Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities: Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in performance of the essential functions and learn, comprehend, and apply all county or departmental policies, practices, and procedures necessary to function effectively in the position.

The examination will consist of an evaluation of education and experience, accomplished by analysis of the application. Requirements
Purpose of Classification:The purpose of this position is to plan and execute Fulton County community outreach programs and events, to coordinate the participation of multiple departments, and to ensure compliance with Fulton County policies, procedures and best practices. This classification is distinguished from Community Relations Coordinator in that incumbents in this classification coordinates strategic planning and external representation for community engagements.
Essential Functions:
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Plans and executes major internal and external programs, meetings and events to highlight Fulton County policies and initiatives. Based on knowledge of best practices in community outreach, assess the needs of internal partners. Review and assess existing plans. Develop short-range and long-range goals for community outreach. Develop recommendations for special events and activities to achieve those goals. Develop and manage timelines and budgets for internal and external programs, meetings and events. Develop and execute promotional campaigns. Serves as liaison for safety and Americans with Disabilities Act accessibility of internal and external meetings, programs and events. Receives input and troubleshoots and resolves issues in collaboration with other partners.
Serves as liaison community event requests. Interprets established policies, guidelines and criteria to and evaluates requests. Communicate with internal and external stakeholders. Assess needs for programs, meetings and events and develop plans including timelines, budgets, and logistics. Advise management on best practices in community outreach and event planning
Organize planning meetings with key partners to review plans.
Establish and maintain relationships with vendors. Secure quotes for services and make recommendations for vendors to execute meetings, events, and programs. Interface with departmental management to provide recommendations.
Prepare documentation for Fulton County meetings, programs and events for employees and the public, including forms, agreements, layouts, checklists, reports, and briefs. Maintain records of Fulton County programs and events.
Operates or uses various equipment and supplies in order to complete work assignments, operates a personal computer to enter, retrieve, review or modify data, utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, Internet, e-mail, or other software; and operates general office or other equipment as necessary to complete essential functions.
Communicates with officials, supervisor, department directors, other employees, third party service contractors, non- profit agencies, the public, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems.
