Job Description
Summary
This job is for a Community Corrections Officer in Yakima, Washington, where you'll supervise offenders in the community to help them reintegrate while ensuring public safety.
It's a full-time role with a standard Monday-to-Friday schedule in the Department of Corrections.
It's only open to current permanent employees in the same job class who are part of the WFSE union and want to transfer internally.
Key Requirements
- Must be a permanent employee of the Washington State Department of Corrections (DOC)
- Must currently hold permanent status in the Community Corrections Officer 3 (CCO3) job class
- Must be in a position represented by the Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE)
- Must be requesting a transfer under Section 2 Supplemental DOC Article 4.7 of the WFSE Collective Bargaining Agreement
- Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with flexibility based on unit needs
- Commitment to follow transfer rules: 12-month wait if refusing an offer, 24-month wait if accepting one

WFSE Section 2 Supplemental DOC Article 4.7 Internal Transfer OpportunityCommunity Corrections Officer 3 (CCO3) - Position SE50
Yakima Field Office - 117 - Yakima, WA
The Community Corrections Division has a permanent, full time Community Corrections Officer 3 (CCO3) opening available. This position, SE50, is with the Yakima Field Office unit 117, in Yakima, WA.
The work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Work hours are determined by unit needs and are at the discretion of the unit supervisor. If you are currently working an alternate work schedule, please be aware that this position may not be able to honor that schedule. For questions, please contact the Human Resource Office.
Qualifications
In accordance with Section 2 Supplemental DOC Article 4.7 of the Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE) 2025-2027 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), this job opening is available to internal transfer candidates ONLY. Employees who meet the following criteria may apply:- You are requesting a transfer under Section 2 Supplemental DOC Article 4.7 of the WFSE CBA.
- You are a permanent DOC employee.
- You currently hold permanent status in the job class being recruited for in this job posting.
- You are currently in a position represented by WFSE.
