We are looking for teammates who are:
- Experienced in designing and implementing enterprise cloud and infrastructure architecture
- Knowledgeable in multi-tier systems, enterprise applications, cloud platforms, and data management technologies
- Strategic thinkers who evaluate emerging technologies and recommend scalable solutions
- Collaborative technical leaders who work effectively with staff, stakeholders, and vendors
What you will do:
You will serve as an expert cloud architecture resource on the Infrastructure Hardware team, designing and providing production support for software, hardware, and cloud systems that support the agency’s strategic business initiatives.
Primary job duties include:
- Providing technical management for network components to include installations, updates, configurations, and troubleshooting of firewalls, routers, switches, load balancers, wireless, servers, storage, and cloud infrastructure
- Providing architectural expertise and direction
- Supplementing support and maintenance functions with a focus on infrastructure and cloud technology design
- Determining feasibility, cost, equipment needs, and time constraints/allocations for assigned projects
- Making design recommendations for the entire network and creating detailed Visio diagrams
- Providing knowledge transfer and training on supported systems to ensure business continuity
- Developing compliance documentation for the network
- Assisting network analysts in classifying information assets based on the data classification schema
- Monitoring the status and effectiveness of controls and providing reports
- Assisting auditors and security staff in reviewing network systems or processes to identify compliance related vulnerabilities
- Participating in scan remediation, on-site reviews, penetration testing, and checking controls of network components
- Analyzing network efficiency
- Diagnoses and correcting network problems and monitoring and reporting on network traffic, usage, and performance
- Researching new technologies with an emphasis on security and providing guidance leading to solutions with our strategic initiatives
Requirements
Either:
- A bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field and experience in business administration, computer science, mathematics, engineering, management information science, networking-telecommunications, and/or data processing in either an on-premises, cloud-based, or hybrid environment OR
- Relevant experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis OR
- Relevant experience or education may be substituted on a year-for-year basis with an approved equivalence by the Division of State Human Resources (DSHR)
Academic degrees must be from an accredited institution of higher learning.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to lift 40 lbs.
- Valid driver’s license
- Travel: This position requires the ability to travel to provide support for SCDOR district offices or data centers. This may include some overnight travel
- On-Call: This position participates in a shared on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support as needed
Qualifications
- At least three years of experience in cloud solution design and implementation
- Advanced experience in designing and implementing enterprise level systems architecture
