Requirements

As a Clerical Supervisor 1, you will provide leadership, supervision, and direction for the Northumberland CAO clerical unit, as well as provide training and orientation to clerical staff.

You will evaluate, monitor, and instruct subordinates to ensure accurate and efficient support to Income Maintenance Caseworker (IMCW) staff, process assistance benefits, delegate work assignments, and identify appropriate action for personnel problems.

You will also provide administrative support to the Executive Director.

This role requires a solid understanding of office equipment, effective communication skills to place service calls, and the ability to maintain adequate area coverage to ensure efficient workflow.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: This position may be eligible to telework part time. Specific details of the telework schedule will be discussed during the interview process.

    In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

    If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Northumberland County. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Northumberland County. If no eligible candidates who live within Northumberland County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
