The PA State Police are searching for a Clerical Assistant 2 for a vacancy in the Investigative Records Section of the Bureau of Records and Identification. This position is responsible for processing crash report requests from the public and their representatives, as well as from within the Department and outside agencies.

Requirements

The Clerical Assistant 2 in this position will file Criminal Incident Reports as well as other related reports numerically by Troop, CAD Call (Computer Aided Dispatch) number, legacy AIMS Incident number, and year (If applicable). Will process requests for copies of Crash Reports from within the Department, as well as from outside agencies and the public and their representatives, while ensuring processing is completed in a timely manner. This position is responsible for process incoming and outgoing mail and answers telephone inquiries concerning Crash Reports and requests for the Section.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday thru Friday with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Free parking at this facility.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108 (before taxes).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:
  • Two years or more of customer service experience.
  • Two years or more of data entry experience.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:
  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
