The Department of State is searching for a Clerical Assistant 2 who will provide clerical support to the Professional Health Monitoring Programs (PHMP) case management staff and performs a variety of clerical support duties related to drug testing, timekeeping, and responding to phone calls and correspondence.

Requirements

The Clerical Assistant 2 in this position will serve as the initial point of contact for the public regarding the filing of complaints against the Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs' (BPOA) licensed professionals. Responsibilities include assisting the PHMP case management staff in reviewing information on new referrals, data entering information in PHMPs database, and maintaining electronic case files.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 8:00am to 4:30pm with a 1-hour lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 50% of the work week after completing the 6-month probationary period.

    In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

    If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg, PA. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting salary of $36,108 (before taxes).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
