A good fit would be a reliable person with experience in office support who values accuracy and helping others navigate claims processes.
Do you value integrity, adaptability, and responsiveness?
Take the next step in your clerical career as a Clerical Assistant 3 with the Pennsylvania Insurance Department, Claims Administration Division.
With us, you will receive and process initial claims report forms (C-416 Form) submitted for medical professional liability claims that are expected to exceed the available primary coverage for a health care provider under the Medical Care Availability and Reduction of Error Fund ("Mcare").
Share your clerical skills and make a difference by helping our team collect and verify all of the information needed to ensure accurate claims processing.

In this position, you will be part of the front line analysis for claim information received and potential applicable coverage for the claim.
Your work will involve reviewing submitted claims forms and associated documents in addition to communicating with insurance and health care providers.
This includes communicating in writing and over the phone to obtain missing information or provide acceptance or rejection of the initial claim submitted.
Reviewing forms and documentation includes correlating claims that are accepted within existing case files to avoid duplication, centralizing all information for claims examiners further handling of claim file, identifying if more information is required from insurer or healthcare provider, and maintaining documentation to track claims.
You will also receive and complete physician and facility claims history requests in accordance with procedures as well as initial reviews of legal invoices for processing.
