Requirements

As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will be responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to the Clinical Services Manager and Assistant Clinical Services Manager (DON/ADON) at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home. This position will be responsible for preparing and posting work schedules for the nursing department, as well as ensuring compliance with policies, regulations, standards of conduct and union equalization issues. You will also review employee call-off lists obtained from Registered Nurse Supervisors to adjust schedule and identify staffing shortages.

In addition, you will provide administrative and clerical support to the Nursing Department including typing and proofreading various documents, receiving and routing telephone calls and visitors, making copies, filing, taking messages, etc.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday thru Friday with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108 (before taxes).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
