Requirements

In this role, you will apply a thorough understanding of the Motor Vehicle Code and Department of Transportation regulations to accurately review and process a wide range of driver licensing and motor vehicle applications. Using a personal computer, you will handle transactions such as renewing or replacing driver licenses and photo identification cards, updating commercial driver medical certifications, processing restorations, and fulfilling requests for paid driver information, including resolving bad check and refund cases.

Your responsibilities will also include reviewing and processing vehicle ownership and registration applications for both in-state and out-of-state transactions. This involves issuing standard and specialty registration plates, managing requests related to imported or exported vehicles, correcting odometer readings, processing salvage titles, and completing registration renewals. Additional duties include updating or replacing credentials, recording or removing lienholder information, processing weight changes, restoring suspended registrations, issuing disability parking placards, and creating records for returned registration plates.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 80 hours bi-weekly
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Overtime available after training is complete. Mandatory overtime may apply.
  • May be required to work when a full day and/or partial-day office closing is authorized. This includes situations such as early dismissals due to severe weather conditions, the day before holidays, and special holiday closures.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • This position requires the selected candidate to undergo and pass a Fingerprint and Name-Based Criminal History Check prior to employment.
