Requirements

The Clerical Assistant 2 in this position will be responsible for providing comprehensive and complex clerical and administrative support for the Western Regional Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL) and will carry out the mandated functions of the certification/approval of regional early learning programs. In this position the you must have basic knowledge in appropriate laws, regulations, policies, procedures and protocols as they pertain to the certification of early learning programs. The incumbent must be able to function as the initial point of contact and keep the Certification Supervisor and the Regional Manager apprised of any issues related to the certification of early learning programs. Work is performed with a considerable amount of independence and minimal review and must be planned and organized efficiently and prioritized to assure a smooth workflow and to meet deadlines as required. Work involves extensive use of the personal computer and other office equipment. Duties are performed under the direction of the Early Learning Program Regional Manager.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday thru Friday with a 1-hour lunch.
  • Telework: This position may be eligible to telework part time. Specific details of the telework schedule will be discussed during the interview process.

    In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

    If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Pittsburgh, PA. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting salary of $36,108 (before taxes).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements (NSRs):
  • This position require keyboarding skills to meet standards for speed and accuracy.

  • This position require the ability to take and transcribe dictation.
