Requirements

The Clerical Assistant 2 in this position provides general clerical support to the Station Commander, Troop M, Bethlehem. Assists and performs backup duties for the Troop M Administrative team when required. Transcribes all reports via the RMS/Versaterm System and prepares and types various correspondence and reports as needed. Proofreads documents to ensure they are completed in a grammatically correct manner consistent with department regulations. Receives phone calls and participates in administrative team meetings utilizing the TEAMS application. Reviews and submits documentation for the District Attorney and Magisterial Offices in preparation for trials and maintains a positive communication and working relationship with court officials.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday thru Friday with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108 (before taxes).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:
  • Two years or more of experience working in professional/confidential office setting.
  • Two years or more of experience working with Microsoft Office/Suite.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):
  • Must be able to communicate effectively.

  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
