In this position, you will engage in all designated phases and rotations as instructed by your supervisor or the training coordinators throughout a 12-month period, which will take place across various district offices, field operations, and central office bureaus within the Highway Administration.
Your responsibilities will encompass a range of Civil Engineering tasks aimed at enhancing your engineering expertise and gaining a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of PennDOT operations.
These tasks will involve conducting preliminary engineering assessments and transportation research studies, evaluating field conditions, inspecting ongoing construction and maintenance projects, and preparing or reviewing designs for highway and bridge initiatives.
Additionally, you will analyze traffic patterns and formulate recommendations to improve traffic safety, as well as perform materials testing.
Participation in various relevant training sessions and meetings beyond the core training program will also be required, culminating in the preparation of summary reports and presentations at the conclusion of each training segment.
Please be aware that this role necessitates travel to different locations, so possessing a valid driver's license is essential.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time.
In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg, PA. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
