The Department of Transportation Engineering District 9-0 is on the lookout for a Senior Civil Engineer Supervisor specializing in Bridges.

This role serves as the Bridge Design Squad Leader, tasked with the preparation, verification, and evaluation of bridge design plans, as well as overseeing construction coordination and project management.
The leader is responsible for meticulously reviewing comprehensive engineering designs, which encompass drawings, specifications, cost estimates, design calculations, and other relevant documentation submitted by consulting engineering firms, ensuring they align with the project's scope and program requirements.
Additionally, the position involves the development of schedules and work assignments that optimize the use of resources to ensure that bridge replacement projects are completed on time and within budget.
The leader also conducts thorough reviews of all calculations, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical correspondence to guarantee overall technical accuracy and completeness, while providing guidance on agency policies and engineering standards.
Furthermore, the role requires the exploration of innovative methods to minimize construction costs and the assessment of workload to facilitate timely consultant assignments that align with project deadlines.
The leader is also responsible for generating cost estimates that support the latest departmental initiatives, as well as scoping and design field reviews, and for creating and updating design project schedules for all ongoing projects.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time.
In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Hollidaysburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
