To be considered for the position, you must meet the following qualification requirements: Education: There is no substitution of education for specialized experience for this position.

OR Experience: You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level.

To be creditable, this experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular qualifications to perform successfully the duties of the position, and must typically be in or related to the position to be filled.

Some examples of this qualifying experience are: Experience resolving complex problems in financial/program management and reporting requirements to ensure an efficient and effective accounting system.

Experience in budget projections for complex programs. Experience balancing complex budget and providing financial reports to capture overall financial status at any given time.

Experience in making payments, running CORS reports, and providing training to subordinate staff regarding financial management systems, programs, and reports.

If applicable, credit will be given for paid and unpaid experience. To receive proper credit, you must show the actual time (such as number of hours worked per week) spent in the activities.

**Your eligibility for consideration will be based on your responses to the questions in the application.** Major Duties:

Responsible for the timely and accurate input and output of all billing, budget and accounting data, tracking, and projection, technical assistance to financial staff, and the development, implementation and maintenance of sophisticated and complex fully automated financial management systems for the Bureau of Prisons (BOP).

Provides technical assistance, expertise and efficient operating procedures to assure accurate and timely accounting information, projections, billing, payments and tracking.

Reviews account maintenance for appropriated funds. Analyze obligation documents to determine validity of payment vouchers and proper classification of the obligations.

Makes recommendations for revisions of operating manuals, directives, and Bureau policies to reflect accounting systems modifications and new procedures and designs related accounting forms.

Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution.

The staff correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.
