This position is open to internal Employment Security Department employees only.
While this position may be performed anywhere in the state and allows for virtual work, it also requires attending in-person meetings and working onsite when requested.
The ideal candidate for the Business Intelligence Manager role is a strategic thinker who thrives at the intersection of data, operations, and mission-driven public service.
They bring a deep understanding of how to translate complex performance information into actionable insights that strengthen service delivery across a large, multifaceted organization.
With a strong grasp of workforce development systems, they are adept at helping leaders understand and utilize data to meet compliance requirements, achieve performance outcomes, and position the Division to secure and retain critical funding sources.
This individual is a collaborative leader who excels at building strong relationships with Regional Directors, WorkSource Administrators, cross-divisional managers, and community partners.
They are skilled at overseeing program performance, guiding teams in tracking strategic goals, and identifying opportunities for improvement through thoughtful analysis of operational and performance data.
Their approach reflects a commitment to continuous improvement, Lean thinking, and customer-centered service design.
They are comfortable leading cross-agency initiatives, integrated service delivery efforts, and system-wide problem-solving activities that elevate the quality and consistency of services statewide.
A successful candidate also brings strong organizational and fiscal acumen, with the ability to oversee staffing structures, budget allocations, and strategic investments across the Division.
They provide clear, informed guidance to regional leaders on budget management and ensure that resources are deployed equitably and effectively.
Above all, they are a proactive, mission-aligned leader who contributes meaningfully to the Division’s strategic direction and helps ensure that Washington’s workforce system delivers high-quality, customer-focused services that meet the needs of communities across the state.
