King County Metro Transit’s Facilities has an exciting opportunity for a Business Analyst. This position will be a crucial link between business needs and technology solutions, ensuring that our projects align with Metro’s belief that transportation is a human right.
This position will play a critical role in establishing and implementing the Zero Emission data program for TFD to align with King County Metro’s Zero-Emission Fleet initiative as Metro is one of the only large transit agencies in the country working toward a 100% zero-emissions fleet by 2035. Over the next decade, we’ll buy zero-emissions buses, continue to invest in electric trolleys, transform Metro non-revenue vehicles fleet to 100% zero-emissions, add charging infrastructure to existing bases, build new bases, and invest in new technology systems to manage an evolving fleet.The Transit Facilities Division is committed to serving our customers with excellence and fostering an equitable and inclusive environment where all team members are valued, respected, and able to operate at their full potential.

The primary focus of the Business Analyst asset management will be to understand, analyze and evaluate business processes, work procedures, policies and systems within the department to determine the most effective methods of accomplishing work and recommend changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

About Metro’s Transit Facilities Division:
King County Metro Transit’s Facilities Division maintains all Metro Transit properties, such as bus bases, park & rides, bus shelters, and offices and maintenance shops.
Services include bus shelter repairs and replacements, bus shelter cleaning, trolley wire repairs, radio maintenance for buses, environmental spill clean-up, bus sign replacement, graffiti removal, and other facilities maintenance duties.
Internally, team provides division-wide support functions for finance, budget, environmental compliance, safety, training, administrative services and new employee orientation.
Planning, inventory/materials management, work center, workforce management, functional asset management, general/maintenance agreements, systems support, capital infrastructure, sustainable resources/energy.
Recruitment Information:
This recruitment will immediately fill one (1) Term-Limited Temporary (TLT) / Special Duty Assignment (SDA) position with an anticipated duration of up to 18 months with the possibility of extension and may also be used to create an eligibility list for future Career Service, Term-Limited Temporary (TLT) and/or Special Duty Assignment (SDA) vacancies valid up to twelve (12) months or until exhausted and at the discretion of the hiring authority.

Work Schedule:
This position is anticipated to be full-time. Typical work hours for this specific position are comprised of a 40-hour work week, normally 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
This position is exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and is therefore not eligible for overtime pay.
Hybrid Work and Onsite Requirements:
The work associated with this position will be performed or conducted through a combination of teleworking and regular onsite work and meetings.
Currently, employees in the Facilities Division are exploring working onsite three (3) days per week to align with County directions. Work schedules are subject to change based on operational needs.

The primary location of the position is at the King Street Center offices, 201 S. Jackson St., Seattle, WA 98104.
