Job Description

Summary

This job involves working as a bartender in a Navy facility lounge in Groton, Connecticut, where you'll mix and serve drinks, handle customer payments, and keep the bar clean and organized.

Full Job Description

This position is located within Commander, Mid-Atlantic Region, Fleet and Family Readiness Program. The purpose of this position is to provide beverage service in a dining room, bar/lounge facility.

A qualified candidate must possess: Knowledge of basic arithmetic and cash handling procedures to compute charges and make change quickly and accurately.

Must possess working knowledge of sanitation practices and procedures.

Must be a mature individual who can exercise control over a large group of people to ensure good order and discipline as necessary.

Must possess working knowledge and skill to mix and serve a variety of alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages from a limited bar. A minimum of six months experience is strongly preferred. Major Duties:

Sets up bar for operation, including garnishes for mixed drinks. Mixes and serves a limited variety of alcoholic or nonalcoholic drinks to order, following a variety of established recipes.

Serves patrons directly, receives payment, operates cash register, makes and returns change to the patron.

At close of facility, completes the Daily Activity Report (DAR), verifies amount of money collected and drops the cashier bag into the safe.

Performs basic cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, washes bar equipment, glassware, utensils, etc. to maintain a constant and clean working area.

Ensures all current sanitation requirements are followed and maintained. Performs other related duties as assigned.
