Job Description

Summary

This job involves helping manage the awards program for the U.S.

Marine Corps in Germany, including processing recommendations for military honors, ensuring everything follows rules, and using computer systems to handle paperwork.

You'll support staff by providing guidance and communicating clearly with different levels of command.

Full Job Description

You will serve as an Awards Program Assistant (OA) in the Adjutant Branch, G-1 of HQ MARINE FORCES EUROPE, Boeblingen, Germany.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must include: 1. Processing military awards with an understanding of military rank structure, protocol, and regulations. 2.

Reviewing subject matter, screening justifications, filing documents and ensuring correspondence are complaint with regulations. 3.

Providing guidance and assistance to staff and interacting with various levels of command using strong written and verbal communication skills. 4.

Proficiency in operating a personal computer with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Approach, PowerPoint), web-based applications, and email systems.

  • You will administer and manager the improved Awards Processing System (iAPS).
  • You will implement award orders, policies and procedures to establish goals, objectives, and determination of areas in need of special concern.
  • You will provide assistance in all aspects of the award program to include procedural guidance, interpretation and implementation.
  • You will receive personal and unit award recommendation on a daily basis from units that are addressed to the Commanding General or Higher Headquarters.
  • You will amend and edit all incoming iAPS Personal Award Recommendations forms, summaries of action, and proposed citations for proper compliance with current orders, policies and directives.
