Key Requirements

Requirements

The DAG is looking to fill one (1) Auditor 4 position within the Bureau of County Audits - District Court and Row Offices.

The Auditor 4 position is responsible for supervising the work of County audits and ensuring that commonwealth fines, costs, fees, taxes, restitution, and surcharges are properly assessed, collected, receipted, and remitted to the appropriate state agency.

The Auditor 4 motivates, empowers, and builds teamwork, providing mentorship and on-the-job training to the audit staff. Work duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Researching, learning, and applying laws, regulations, guidelines, and auditing standards.
  • Locating, evaluating, and analyzing records and other information.
  • Creating, inputting, accessing, and retrieving data, including but not limited to audit work papers, audit findings, and audit/administrative reports.
  • Making non-policy making decisions within the confines of the established audit program

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time.

    In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

    If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting, business, computer science, data analytics, finance, economics, information technology, math, or a closely related field AND one year experience as an Auditor 3, Liquor Store Examiner 3, or a Management Trainee; or
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting, business, computer science, data analytics, finance, economics, information technology, math, or a closely related field AND four years of accounting/auditing experience, including one year of supervisory accounting or auditing experience; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting, business, computer science, data analytics, finance, economics, information technology, math, or a closely related field.


Additional Requirements:

  • You must possess a valid Driver's License.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • One or more of the following certifications:
    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
    • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)
    • Certified Government Audit Professional (CGAP)
    • Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM)
    • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
    • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
