We offer a team oriented environment comprised of military personnel, civilian employees, contractors and volunteers who keep the organization functioning smoothly and effectively.
Must have one year experience in fitness, health, sports or group exercise with a minimum of two years customer service experience.
A degree from an accredited college/university in a related field is preferred and may be substituted for three years of experience.
Must be certified as a personal fitness trainer by a nationally accredited certifying organization or obtain within six months.
Must currently have or obtain within six months a group exercise certification. This certification must be kept current throughout employment.
Must be certified in CPR within 3 months and remain certified during duration of employment.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a National Agency Check with Inquiries and State Criminal History Repository Check (CNACI) background checks which are required for positions that involve working with children under 18 years of age.
Major Duties:
Incumbents time will be spent assisting their supervisor in the purchase, upkeep and maintenance of equipment registered on Consolidated Memorandum Receipts, and will make regular and detailed checks for sanitation, cleanliness and safety of all areas and equipment.
May assist in the proper training of staff on all aspects of the facilities and programs. May be responsible for gear issue and receipt of gear check-in.
Assist in the layout and preparation of programs and/or facilities, athletic fields, courts and tracks. Deals with patrons to resolve complaints and grievances.
May assist in the planning and scheduling of staff work assignments to accommodate weekends, evenings and holidays, as well as employee performance appraisals and other personnel actions.
Facility is open 24/7 and includes the operation of unmanned hours.
Incumbents will also be required to teach group exercise classes, provide fitness programming, administer fitness and health assessments, teach health and fitness classes, work races and represent Semper Fit at special events.
In the absence of the supervisor, may act as the MCCS area liaison/representative with the area command, sharing information about all of the facilities in that area.
Supports all Warrior Athlete Readiness and Resilience (WARR) programming and services and Marine Corps Total Fitness (MCTF) strategy.
Constantly provides World Class Customer service with an emphasis on courtesy. Acknowledges customers, smiles and makes eye conduct. Asks questions to determine, verify, and solve problems.
Checks for satisfaction on the quality of goods and services. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise.
