Full Job Description

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY FINANCIAL MANAGER in the DEPUTY COMPTROLLER of MARINE CORPS BASE.

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Advising others on financial management and accounting implications; analyzing and synthesizing financial and managerial data with planning and programming data to draw conclusions and provide guidance; AND interpreting and deconflicting information from multiple sources to communicate clear and concise directives.

  • You will consult with Assistant Chiefs of Staff and Commanding Officers in the planning, formulation, execution, and management of financial aspects of operating programs across regional installations and aboard the base.
  • You will be responsible for legislative analysis, policy development, budget formulation, budget execution, accounting analysis and auditing.
  • You will serve as the primary point of contact for working financial management issues related to Congressional Budget Review, testimony preparation, and responses to Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • You will advise on the legality of proposed operations from a financial standpoint and on procedures within regulations for use of appropriated funds.
  • You will develop and implement strategy for presentation and justification of financial management information and brief committees and groups.
  • You will establish and implement policies and procedures to accomplishment Department duties and responsibilities, plan and schedule workload, and advise and provide counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures and management directives.
