This job involves leading teams to maintain and repair highway tunnels, ensuring everything runs safely and efficiently, including scheduling work, handling emergencies, and keeping traffic moving during incidents.
It's a hands-on management role focused on safety training, resource allocation, and coordinating with first responders.
A good fit would be someone with experience in highway or construction maintenance who enjoys supervising crews and solving on-the-spot problems in a fast-paced environment.

In this position, you will be responsible for coaching and counseling team members, as well as recommending corrective actions when necessary.
Your duties will include planning, monitoring, and evaluating job performance, conducting training sessions, and implementing and enforcing established systems, policies, and procedures.
Additionally, you will be tasked with delivering safety talks and demonstrations to ensure a safe working environment.
As the Assistant Tunnel Manager, you will facilitate operations by organizing work assignments for TM Supervisors, Tunnel Maintainers, MV Electrician Foremen, MV Electricians, and Clerk Typist 3.
This role involves assigning tasks, monitoring the outcomes of work, procuring necessary resources and equipment, and upholding productivity and safety standards while addressing operational challenges.
You will also be responsible for maintaining reference manuals and developing new safety and operational procedures to enhance efficiency.You will oversee and evaluate the completion of routine, planned, and emergency maintenance tasks for the tunnels, portal buildings, and fanhouse.
Furthermore, you will manage incident response duties by providing support and coordinating assistance when incidents exceed the complexity manageable by Tunnel Maintainer Supervisors.
This includes effective communication with PennDOT employees and first responders to ensure situational awareness is maintained throughout the incident management process.
