Summary

This job involves leading a team to manage and oversee multifamily housing programs for the U.S.

Full Job Description

This position is located in the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Asst Secretary for Housing-Federal Housing Commissioner.

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-15, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service.

Specialized Experience for this position includes: - Leading, managing, or supervising a team of employees in achieving Multifamily housing asset management project goals and objectives; AND - Coordinating and supporting a variety of Multifamily housing asset management functions (e.g., FHA mortgage insurance, Section 202 or 811 Capital Advance programs, Project-based Section 8, preservation of affordable housing, rental subsidy administration, grant administration, risk management, Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, and compliance); AND - Consulting with, and providing technical assistance to, program officials, citizens groups, or government officials on a variety of Multifamily housing asset management-related technical matters.

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.

Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-15 you must have been at the GS-14 level for 52 weeks.

Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.

MFH is widely responsible for production, asset management and portfolio oversight, and recapitalization of assisted properties, and field operations.

As part of the National Housing Act of 1934, Congress created the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) which later became a part of the Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) Office of Housing in 1965.

As an Asset Management Division Director(Satellite Office Coordinator), you will: Direct the development of criteria, instructions, and guidelines to achieve the goals and mission of the Division.

Serve as the principal advisor to the Satellite Office regarding the implementation of Asset Management programs, including finding and implementing ways to eliminate or reduce significant barriers to work production, promote team building, or improve business practices.

Direct the development and implementation of training curricula for use by field staff with respect to the program and operational jurisdiction of the Division.
