Job Purpose:

Teach Art 101: Art History & Appreciation courses to students in all academic programs at the Technical College of the Lowcountry. Familiarity with digital applications is required to use our Learning Management System.

Job Functions:

Teaching Responsibilities
  • Instruction including hands on and theory, classroom management, and administrative tasks that may include reports, syllabus and lesson plan development.
  • Assess the accomplishment of students on a regular basis.
  • Maintain records of student attendance, grades, and progress.
Instructional Development
  • Recommend for approval adequate instructional materials for course.
  • Work with other areas of the college such as Tutoring, Retention, etc. to help ensure student success.
  • Prepare reports in cooperation with the Division Dean for input in planning/reporting system and/or for submission to the accrediting body of the college or program.
Professional Development
  • Attend relevant professional meetings.
  • Represent the college positively in interactions with the community and with professional and academic groups at local, state, and national levels.

Requirements

Master’s Degree in Fine Art/Art History or Master’s Degree in a related field AND a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Fine Art/Art History is required. Unofficial transcripts are required when applying.
