Job Description
Summary
This job is for a part-time history teacher who leads beginner-level history classes for college students at various locations, including campuses and high schools.
The role involves planning engaging lessons, managing classroom activities, attending required meetings and trainings, and helping assess student progress.
It's ideal for someone with a strong background in history who enjoys teaching and working in a community college environment.
Key Requirements
- Master of Arts in History, or Master's in a related field with at least 18 graduate credit hours in history
- Ability to teach in-person introductory-level history courses
- Willingness to teach at multiple campuses and off-campus sites, including high schools
- Conduct appropriate learning activities and maintain effective instructional management
- Participate in orientations, meetings, trainings, and Student Learning Outcomes assessments
- Adhere to all college-designated deadlines
- Preferred: Prior experience teaching introductory college history courses, especially in community colleges

Additional Information
Adjunct faculty are compensated in accordance with Midlands Technical College’s established pay schedule. The standard adjunct pay rate is $2,802 per three-credit-hour course.
Final compensation may vary depending on academic credentials and total course credit hours. Any variation is determined upon hire and outlined in the faculty employment agreement.
