As an Applications Developer 1, you will assist in testing processes for both project and maintenance operations work within the Software Testing Unit of the Solutions Management Division.
The incumbent will assist in the development and execution of test cases for various testing activities as they pertain to the System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and will leverage applicable 508 and WCAG 2.2 accessibility standards for Accessibility Compliance testing.
This individual will also document results, identify defects, and provide test reports and deliverables, as well as retesting support once defects have been resolved.
This position will participate in sessions with business, testing staff, development staff and contractors regarding the testing of complex projects.The incumbent will manage multiple IT tasks relative to their planning, execution, monitoring, and close-out phases for individually assigned tasks or team sub tasks and deliverables.
This position will ensure on-time delivery and quality of IT solutions and services provided to our customers.
You will actively support and participate in total quality management, continuous quality improvement, team-based process, and customer-focused service in all activities of the Software Testing Unit.
The incumbent will serve as a technical and cross-functional project resource for the SDLC of these mission critical applications used to support DHS Program Offices.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Telework: You must come into the office 2 days per week at a minimum.
You will be expected to work from home (telework) for the reminder of your work schedule, but this could change and you may be required to come into the office more frequently.
The office is headquartered at 2525 North 7th Street, Harrisburg. You must have a securely configured high-speed Internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
