Summary

This role involves managing and supporting various security programs within the Navy, such as information protection, personnel clearances, and operational safeguards, while providing expert advice and handling daily operations.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-09/10 level in implementing security policies, procedures, training, and processes for INFOSEC, PERSEC, or OPSEC programs
  • Subject matter expertise in one or more major security programs, assisting the Command Activity Security Manager
  • Ability to research, interpret, and provide guidance on security procedures and policies
  • Skills in developing and implementing policies, procedures, training, and processes based on governing policies or mission needs
  • Experience in investigating and reporting security incidents/violations, including drafting recommendations
  • Proficiency in conducting inspections, audits, surveys, and preparing inspection reports
  • Knowledge of managing access control systems (ACS), intrusion detection systems (IDS), and related maintenance/upgrades

Full Job Description

You will serve as an ADMINISTRATIVE/TECHNICAL SPECIALIST in the SECURITY DIVISION, CORPORATE OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CTR CORONA DIV, located in Corona, CA.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-03 (GS 09/10 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Implementing security policies, procedures, training, and processes to administer the day-to-day operations of a Information Security (INFOSEC), Personnel Security (PERSEC) or Operations Security (OPSEC) program.

  • You will serve as an interdisciplinary Security Specialist, with Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in one or more major Security programs and assist the Command Activity Security Manager (ASM) in all assigned duties.
  • You will research, interpret, and provide guidance on security procedures and policies.
  • You will develop and implement policies, procedures, training, and processes as mandated by governing policy, customer requirements or command mission.
  • You will develop recommendations to ensure security incidents/violations are investigated and reported.
  • You will conduct inspections, audits, and surveys, and draft inspection reports.
  • You will manage the command Access Control System (ACS) and Intrusion Detection System (IDS) to include maintenance, upgrades and expansions.
  • You will oversee the Command Operational Security (OPSEC) program.
  • You will manage the command Personnel Security (PERSEC) and Insider Threat Program (InT).
  • You will manage the command Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) program.
