Job Description

Summary

This job involves working as a financial analyst in a naval operations division, where you'll handle budgeting, track expenses, and ensure smooth business operations by organizing resources and preparing reports.

It's ideal for someone with experience in financial planning and analysis who enjoys detail-oriented work in a government setting.

Entry to mid-level candidates with relevant experience in budget management would fit well.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to NT-02 (GS-5/6/7/8) for NT-03 level, involving extracting budget and program data to organize and review operations
  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to NT-03 (GS-9/10) for NT-04 level, involving analyzing financial resources, developing budgets, and resolving planning issues
  • Experience in financial operations within a working capital fund business model
  • Ability to organize, plan, schedule, prioritize workload, and maintain oversight of work accomplishment
  • Skills in analyzing overhead and direct funded programs, including policies, operations, progress, resource estimates, and inter-program balances
  • Proficiency in preparing reports on status of funds, expenses, obligations, funding levels, budget requirements, and identifying program problems
  • Relevant paid, unpaid, or volunteer experience that demonstrates critical competencies in financial analysis

NT-03: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level NT-02 (GS-05/6/7/8 equivalent) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector extracting budget and program data to organize, plan and review work operations and resources ensuring the efficiency of an organization's business operations.

NT-04: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level NT-03 (GS-09/10 equivalent) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector analyzing financial program resource requirements to develop and monitor budget execution and resolve financial planning issues ensuring the efficiency of an organization's business operations.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will serve as the financial program analyst of the Business Operations Division.
  • You will organize, plan, schedule and prioritize workload and maintain oversight of work accomplishment.
  • You will be responsible for financial operations within a working capital fund business model.
  • You will analyze overhead and direct funded programs including objective polices, work operations, progress, resources estimates, and inter program balances and other related aspects.
  • You will prepare a variety of reports covering status of funds, expensive and obligations, current funding levels, budget/task requirements and identify program problems.
