About the Position: This position is located at Naval Medical Center, Defense Health Agency, Defense Health Network Pacific Rim, San Diego, CA Directorate of Surgery , Otorhinolaryngology.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilize a computer and office automated tools to prepare correspondence, maintain calendar, maintain office files, prepare personnel actions, review accuracy of documents.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

OR Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business, Human Resource, Health Care Management.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9.

Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).

Major Duties:

  • Input information received from various healthcare facilities to provide services to beneficiaries.
  • Prepare preliminary documentation for required in-house internal reviews.
  • Provide authorized information from various records on establishing departmental policies.
  • Receive telephone calls and visitors in medical treatment facility to provide accurate information for inquires.
  • Prepare statistical data to produce reports for a medical program.
