About the Position: Serves as administrative liaison in direct support of the Division Chief and Deputy on matters requiring judicious, confidential consideration and handling and pursues such matters to acceptable conclusion.

Specialized Experience GS-07: One year of specialized experience which includes tracking or monitoring deadlines for assignments; drafting or reviewing correspondence to ensure proper grammar, spelling, formatting, or signatures; and using an automated system to make, coordinate, or approve travel arrangements.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.

For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).

Major Duties:

  • Keeps supervisors calendar and schedules appointments and meetings on own initiative.
  • Takes lead in developing new methods of automating office records and renders advice and recommendations for purchase of computer resources.
  • Assists in administering the hand receipt under supervision of the hand receipt holders.
  • Coordinates routine and complex travel arrangements including remote international locations for employees.
  • Serves as timekeeper and performs all time and attendance and related duties for all employees using an automated reporting system.
