Job Duties:

The Administrative Specialist II has the role within the Placement Services Transportation of scheduling Transportation for all foster care youth, both therapeutic and non-therapeutic for Upstate, Midlands, Low Country, and Pee Dee regions.

Works collaboratively with other divisions within DSS related to Transportation (Office of Child Health and Well-Being, County Operations, Finance).

Maintains professional interaction with providers, vendors and families. The candidate can be based in any county.


Receives information from State Transportation Coordinator regarding a scheduling need for therapeutic and non-therapeutic transportation.

Contacts transportation providers in a timely manner to secure transport. Provides details of secured transportation via email to referring county and contract staff.

Communicates as appropriate with transportation provider, contract staff and county office following notification of secured transport if there are any changes or updates to the details of the transport need.

Maintains tracking system of all scheduled transports and scheduling attempts.


  • Maintains an accurate and detailed tracking system of all scheduled transports and scheduling attempts. Monitors how many transports each child is allowed per month.

  • Works on a rotational basis, but sometimes assigned a region to ensure adequate coverage for vacations, meetings, etc.

  • Adapts to changes in the workplace involving the Computer Systems utilized such as Excel, SharePoint and other systems used on a daily basis.

  • Ensures that Personal Identifying Information (PII) is properly used, accessed, gathered, shared and disposed. Protects the agency networks and applications by safeguarding systems, equipment and data.

  • Performs emergency disaster management services to include American Red Cross sheltering and Disaster Snap duties.

Requirements

A High School Diploma. Related clerical experience may be substituted for a High School Diploma.
