Base salary range: $51,332 - $66,732

GS-9: To be eligible at the GS-9 level, you must meet at least ONE of the following conditions, as defined below: Specialized Experience, Education, OR a combination of Education and Experience.
Specialized Experience: One full year of the below described specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level.
Specialized experience is defined as experience monitoring or controlling the budget; analyzing technology in relation to support service needs; and providing administrative support services in areas such as space management, purchasing supplies and equipment, security, mail, records, reproduction services, office automation, information management, and communications hardware and software.
OR Education: One of the following types of education in a related field (e.g., Accounting, Business Administration, Financial Management, and Auditing).
A Master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B. or J.D., if related.
Education at the graduate level must be in an accredited college or university and must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position.
OR Combining Education and Experience: Combinations of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements.

If selected for this position, you will serve as a Administrative Services Specialist for the United States Attorney's Office, Western District of Virginia.
You be responsible for overseeing and/or providing a wide variety of administrative support services to the district in most or all of the following areas: Records Management, Human resources, and Safety and Security, Procurement, travel arrangement and other miscellaneous support services.
As an Administrative Services Specialist typical work assignments will include: Serving as Contracting Officer Representative for construction, maintenance, service contracts and all minor repair projects.
Serves as the office purchasing agent using the Government Purchase Card (GPC). Responsible for maintaining and administering a variety of budget and financial management activities.
Monitoring and tracking obligations and expenditures. Assisting in formulation justification and execution of the office budget.
Responsible for administrating routine contracting and procurement activities. Reviewing requisitions and formal advertising or negotiations.
Coordinating a variety of facility maintenance and/or repair activities for offices workspaces.
Promoting and coordinating effective records management programs with manages and employees by providing guidance and training.
Ensuring that personnel, records, and the facility are safe and in full conformance with applicable security requirement.
Projecting and analyzing space needs based on proposed initiatives, staff changes and technology improvements.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
