This job is for an administrative assistant in a U.S.
Attorney's office in Detroit, where you'll handle everyday office tasks like answering phones, managing supplies, processing payments, and supporting office operations to keep things running smoothly.

Qualifications: GS-7: To be eligible at the GS-7 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-6 level.
Specialized experience is defined as experience performing a wide range of administrative, technical, and clerical support duties such as providing customer support to internal and external customers; receiving telephone calls and visitors to an office; data entry into logs and databases; preparing reports for a program area to track and review trends and processes; processing and recording checks, money orders, or other forms of payment; providing office automation support (e.g.
creating, copying, editing, storing, retrieving a variety of documents); or entering data into one or more computer systems.
To be qualified, you must type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
(A typing test may later be required.) Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP): The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.

If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that provides a variety of direct support services for the entire office in the areas of invoice preparation, help desk management, supply management, purchase card holder, property management/inventory, office moves management, minor facilities maintenance, management assistance, security related tasks, and fleet management.
Duties include, but are not limited to the following: Receiving and processing telephone calls and messages. Monitoring the invoice in-box requests daily to ensure prompt action is taken on requests.
Preparing invoices for submission to the Budget Unit. Receiving, reviewing, and distributing incoming and outgoing mail.
Serve as a Master Timekeeper, assisting staff with their time and attendance, and preparing corrected timesheets. Serve as a Purchase Cardholder for the office.
Maintains an effective inventory control system. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
