Job Description

Summary

This job involves supporting the management of grants given to local organizations and agencies, including creating rules to follow federal and state laws, helping staff with questions, and reviewing agreements for approval.

Key Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university, preferably in public or business administration, accounting, or a related field
  • One year of full-time paid experience in a technical or advanced clerical position providing administrative services like accounting, budgeting, project monitoring, personnel, or procurement
  • Experience at the level of Office Assistant 3 or Accounting Technician 3 or higher
  • Ability to design and develop policies and procedures for subrecipient grant compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Skills in reviewing and approving grant agreements, change orders, and inter-agency agreements
  • Providing direction and assistance to staff on grant-related policies, issue resolution, and corrections

Full Job Description


Provide administrative support of the subrecipient grant process including designing/developing policies and procedures necessary to comply with Federal and State regulations. Provide direction and assistance to spending unit staff regarding policies and procedures related to subrecipient grants, resolution of issues and corrections that need to be made to agreements. Review and approval of subrecipient grant agreements and change orders to qualifying service providers, local counties, communities and other political subdivisions, and inter/intra agency agreements in conjunction with the Office of Grants Management.

Qualifications

Training: Graduation from an accredited college or university. Preference may be given to candidates with a major in the area of public or business administration, accounting, industrial relations, communications or related field.
Substitution: Additional qualifying experience as described below may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required training.
Experience: One year of full-time or equivalent part-time paid employment in a technical or advanced clerical position providing administrative services such as accounting, budgeting, project monitoring and reporting, personnel, or procurement and property. Experience must have been at the Office Assistant 3 or Accounting Technician 3 level or higher.
Substitution: Successful completion of graduate study in an accredited college or university in one of the above fields may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
