About the Position: Serve as an Administrative Officer, advise to the Battalion Commander on management and administrative support for civilian and military personnel.

As the Battalion's internal administrative advisor, incumbent is responsible for performing, providing, obtaining, and/or advising on a variety of management services essential to the direction and efficient operation of the Battalion.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Providing administrative support for a military organization in manpower management, civilian human resources advisement, and the development of administrative polices, regulations, and procedures.

OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Administration, Business Communications, Business Management.

(Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12.

Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Major Duties:

  • Serves as the Battalion primary administrative official with responsibility for planning, development, and execution of the Administrative Management program.
  • Performs a variety of duties pertaining to all aspects of personnel management, reorganization, organization structuring, position management, and manpower utilization.
  • Provides advice and assistance on the processes and procedures of performance management systems, the incentive awards and beneficial suggestion program, and/or other productivity measurement and improvement programs.
  • Advises management on civilian personnel matters by researching laws, regulations, and directives related to personnel procedures.
  • Coordinates with management and higher headquarters to develop and implement command policies and procedures concerning personnel management.
  • Supervises subordinate personnel and assigns work to subordinate personnel in support of personnel management mission.
