Requirements

In this role, you will take on the critical responsibility of developing policies, procedures, and guidelines that are in compliance with both federal and state laws governing the management of hazardous materials emergency preparedness (HMEP), the hazardous materials response fund (HMRF), the radiological emergency response fund (RERF), and various other state grants associated with emergency preparedness and disaster relief under the agency's oversight.

Your responsibilities will encompass monitoring the financial balances of subrecipient grant awards, providing guidance on necessary actions, and compiling regular status and financial reports related to these grant initiatives.

It is essential to meet all reporting requirements for the specified grant programs, and you will also be tasked with ensuring thorough oversight of county plans and conducting budget audits pertinent to these programs.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • FREE on-site parking
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • In the event of an emergency/disaster situation or training exercise, this position may be required to travel, work up to 12-hour shifts, and work outside of the normal work hours, including weekends and overnights.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time upon successful completion of training period.

    In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

    If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will receive the minimum starting salary listed on this posting. The starting salary is non-negotiable.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as an Administrative Officer 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Three years of experience in progressively responsible and varied office management or staff work, including experience in personnel management, budgeting, or procurement; and a bachelor's degree; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
