The Department of Health, Division of Bureau Operations is seeking an Administrative Officer 1 to play a pivotal role in the strategic financial stewardship of vital public health initiatives. Requirements

As an Administrative Officer 1, you will manage and coordinate shared fiscal resources, including the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Services Block Grant and Family Health Special Projects. You will provide primary fiscal oversight for the Division of Bureau Operations and the Division of Newborn Screening and Genetics, while offering backup support for all other divisions within the bureau. Key duties include preparing monitoring reports and coordinating the federal budget for the Title V MCH Services Block Grant by reconciling Business Warehouse Analyzer reports to complete annual fiscal files and budget forms. In this role, you will be responsible for Title V Block Grant closing procedures, including identifying commitments for liquidation and adjusting expenditures to ensure full funding utilization. You will continuously monitor shared funding levels to guarantee that each division maintains the necessary resources for its workflows and perform monthly grant analyses to provide expenditure status and recommendations. Furthermore, you will conduct specialized fiscal analysis to generate reports for the department or Legislature.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 3 days per week.

    In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

    If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience in varied office management or staff work; and bachelor's degree; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
