This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health (OMH) Spartanburg Area Mental Health Center, Spartanburg, SC 29303.


Under limited supervision of the Human Resources Manager, this position will perform duties in the area of Human Resources as well as in support of management and routine and specialist administrative support. Provide timekeeping duties for center staff. and provide services in a culturally sensitive manner.

Serve as the assistant to the Executive Director and as the liaison between the Center and the Board of Directors; compose/disseminate correspondence to the board.

Function as the primary designee of the Executive Director for organizing and managing official business, correspondence, and appointments.

Receive information and assemble reports and documents for the Board of Directors. Help to coordinate special meetings and public relations events.

Plan, organize, and perform executive secretarial duties and support of Director of Clinical Services and Director of Administration.

Record and accurately compose succinct minutes of Corporate Compliance, Board of Trustees, and Executive Committee meetings, ensure quality output and coordinate distribution of minutes as required.

Schedule meetings with ZOOM and/or TEAMS as necessary.

Perform timekeeping duties including leave slips and on-call / dual employment on a regular basis and in a timely manner to meet deadlines for pay periods.

Provide back up for the HR Manager with all payroll functions. Process dual employment paperwork, FMLA submissions and Worker's Compensation when needed.

Process all EPMS (performance reviews), Planning Stages, and Position Descriptions for staff.

Send out reminders to supervisors when reviews are due and follow up if reviews are not received in a timely manner. Prepare and submit all EPMS's to HR Processing.

Maintain compliance with Federal, State and local Corporate Compliance laws.

  • Responsible for SCEIS-related training for new employees. Serve as the liaison to Probate Court, coordinate schedule for judicial hearings, prepare necessary paperwork for hearing and compile annual report.
  • Requirements

    A high school diploma and relevant experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services or a bachelor's degree may be substituted for the require work experience.

    Qualifications

    • Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.

    Additional Information

    Post hire, employee must:
    • Be able to pass CPR and Managing Agitation in the Psychiatric Setting (MAPS) Certification.
    • Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships; the ability to make and communicate decisions.
    • Proficient in all Microsoft software as well as typing, taking notes and other secretarial skills.
