Summary

This role involves leading a team in the Be At School Division of the Hennepin County Attorney's Office, focusing on early intervention services for families and youth by supervising staff, building community partnerships, and managing programs and contracts.

Full Job Description

The Hennepin County Attorney's Office (HCAO) is seeking to fill two Principal Administrative Assistant, positions to respond and engage with Be At School Division stakeholders and provide leadership to staff.

The Be At School Division provides early intervention services for families and youth within Hennepin County.

Location and hours:
These positions are hybrid and will be performed both on-site at identified locations within Hennepin County, and remote as job duties require. The typical work hours will be 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. While these positions are designated as hybrid, based on current requirements hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin.

New Employee Orientation (NEO) for all new benefit-earning employees is in-person in downtown Minneapolis. Details about NEO will be provided upon hire.

In these positions, you will:
  • Supervise division staff, selecting, training, coordinating, and evaluating performance to ensure high quality service delivery.
  • Develop, lead, and facilitate professional training initiatives that strengthen engagement and outreach capacity across the Division.
  • Plan, manage, and facilitate community engagement activities; deliver presentations to community groups and key stakeholders.
  • Participate in program data collection, evaluating and reporting on data.
  • Build, maintain, and strengthen collaborative relationships, representing HCAO across County departments and with community partners, school administrators, and elected officials, speaking on behalf of the department and HCAO Leadership.
  • Respond to and resolve organizational or program policies and procedures issues.
  • Develop and deliver training for school personnel, contracted agencies, and HCAO staff; coordinate the annual conference in partnership with the University of Minnesota.
  • Manage contracts, including financial tracking and facilitating billing processes, develop, implement, and monitor protocols for Contracted Community Agencies and oversee department’s interactions with those agencies.
Need to have:
  • One of the following:
    • Bachelor's degree in business administration or other field appropriate to the position and five years of experience related to the position.
    • Note: Experience in general administrative work related to the management of departmental/organizational operations or in a specialty area appropriate to the position may be substituted for education on a year for year basis.

    • Communicating with community members in verbal, written, and public speaking formats.
  • Ability to tailor messages to different audiences.
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
