Job Description

Summary

This job is for an administrative assistant in a defense logistics agency, where you'll handle office tasks like preparing reports, managing supplies, tracking budgets, and creating charts and data displays to support management decisions.

To qualify for a Administrative Assistant (OA), your resume and supporting documentation must support: A.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position.

To qualify at the GS-07 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector.

Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement.

Creditable specialized experience includes: Utilizes office automation equipment to prepare reports and correspondence in final form from rough drafts or brief instructions.

Maintains supply logs, research requested/required items, prices, and contacts vendor for information.

Performs a variety of technical and administrative support duties such as: compiling and reviewing reports, updating briefing materials, monitoring a budget, and researching guidance B.

Education: As a general rule, education is not creditable above GS-5 for most positions covered by this standard; however, graduate education may be credited in those few instances where the graduate education is directly related to the work of the position.

Typing Proficiency Requirement: Must be able to type at least 40 words per minute Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:

  • Responsible for performing a variety of technical and admin support duties which relate to the functions of the Support Services Group management.
  • Devises methods of capturing, retrieving, and manipulating all required data to meet required suspense dates.
  • Creates format for forms, spread sheets, charts, graphics, and other data displays, and chooses the proper vehicle for reporting required data.
  • Compiles reports that provide management with information necessary for the management of resource allocations.
  • Prepares charts, graphs, tables and input to narrative analysis for inclusion in reports and briefings.
  • Completes special projects/reports/surveys by compiling and reviewing information, conducting extensive research into reports, publications, regulations, etc.
  • Performs duties as credit card holder for the group office.
